The Sixth Mass Extinction: Performance and HD Video work, 2017

The Six Mass Extinctions include five historical mass extinctions and the sixth, now hastened by climate change is currently in progress. The extinctions are represented by six suspended ethereal sheets of glass. On 27 January 2017, the live performance of The Sixth Mass Extinction was held in the historic Canberra Fitters Workshop. This video is an abbreviated version of the performance. Over 200 disposable bottles of water were handed out to become part of the performance and drew the audience into a surprising and complicit involvement. The performance was a collaborative work with musician and composer Alexander Hunter.
